Edward, after a very short time working on his father's farm, became a carpen- ter, and specialized in building windmills. He sold and set up 74 of them in Blue Earth Co. in 1893. In Feb 1894, he became a farm implement and tubular well dealer
, and in 1896, he added the plumbing business. He lived & worked at 315 N. Broad St., Mankato, where he was listed as a "contractor".
