Notes for JOHN J. ANDERSON

John, along with Peder, his brother, founded the Anderson Brothers Furniture Store in 1881 in Beloit, IA. Because the railhead was moved across the river to Canton, the store was moved there during the winter of 1882-3 by loading the goods on hay
racks and taken across the frozen river. The name of the firm was changed to John Anderson & Sons Furniture when son, Joseph, joined his father. They moved to their present location in 1921-22.
