Arthur was listed as a carpenter working for his father in the Mankato City Directory from 1912-1916. In the 1921 Directory, he is plying his trade with the Paegel-Esser Co. He was killed by carbon monoxide poisoning while fixing his running ca
r within his garage. The door was open, but a strong crosswind kept the fumes from escaping. He apparently realized what was happening, but too late, collapsing after turning the car off but before he could reach the door.
