QUAY, S. A. - St. Paul Publisher. He was a foreman for the Minnesota Chronicle. When James Hughes sold out and left town, Quay took a partnership interest in the Chronicle and Register newspaper. After a few weeks (1849), Quay withdrew his interest, and left the territory. [WM230]
