YOERG, ANTHON - The first brewer in St. Paul. He was born in Bavaria in 1816, and arrived in St. Paul in 1848. After a failed attempt at running a butcher shop, he and his son built and operated the Yoerg Brewing Co., the first brewery in St. Paul, which was located near where Washington and Eagle Streets once met, below the present Civic Center Parking Ramp. The Yoergs later moved it across the river to Commercial (Ethel) and Ohio Sts. He died in 1896. [Brewed in Minnesota: Early Brewing]

YOUNG, BENJAMIN A. D. - Benjamin was born "Benjamin A. Dyon". He married Henrietta Campbell in 1848, and died about 1898. [MN50, Keith Rockwood]
