"Tautama Gold" (Fresh Honey)

Beekeeping is an important agricultural pursuit on Pitcairn. The island's isolation is ideal, as it keeps the Pitcairn bee population free of the many problems that plague bees and beekeepers elsewhere in the world. And they are making a very concerted effort to keep their hives pristine.

Tautama Gold has a unique flavor derived from the pollen of the lush tropical vegetation. Pitcairn's hives are dispersed around the island and the honey combines the scents of hibiscus, gardenia, passionfruit and the wild lantanas which grow like weeds in the volcanic soils.

Tautama Gold is available (in season) from Randy & Nadine Christian, Mike Warren, and others on Pitcairn.

NOW AVAILABLE FROM PIPCO IN AUCKLAND. See Pitcairn Island Pure Honey.
